Vivek Chaand Sehgal and his co-founder built the business into a Tier-1 automotive supplier to the global industry through a sustained programme of international acquisitions, adding capabilities in mirrors, bumpers, dashboards and other complex modules alongside the original wiring harness business. The group now operates over 350 manufacturing facilities across 41 countries, with a large majority of its revenue generated outside India.

The acquisition strategy has been deliberate in targeting companies that supplied premium European automakers, because those relationships carry higher technical specifications, stricter quality requirements and, once established, are difficult to displace. His son Laksh Vaaman Sehgal is leading an expansion beyond automotive into aerospace, where the group is a Tier-1 supplier to Airbus, as well as into consumer electronics and semiconductors. The plan is to grow group revenues from $25.7 billion in fiscal 2025 to $80 billion by fiscal 2030, a target that would require sustaining the acquisition pace and integration capability that built the business in the first place.
