Jyotiprasad Taparia and Family

Jyoti Prasad Taparia founded Famy Care in 1990, leaving his family’s hand-tools and engineering business for a sector no one around him understood. Starting from a technology tie-up with a Finnish partner, he indigenised the products and became one of the first Indian suppliers to the government’s public-health programmes.

His sons Sanjeev and Ashutosh joined in 1996 and expanded the business into new therapeutic areas, scaling Famy Care into one of the world’s leading manufacturers in its category building a substantial export presence across Asia and Africa. The business has always been run as a family enterprise, with the second generation taking operating roles early and steering its expansion into new therapeutic areas.
